About
Born in Tunisia and based in Milan, Salma Ouaja is a contemporary artist and interior designer working across painting and sculpture.
Her signature figure, SAM, emerged from her paintings before taking shape in resin. Through colour, texture and gesture, she explores human connection and positive energy. Each work is unique and finished by hand.
The story
SAM holds an intimate family constellation: Salma, Adam and Mohamed — bringing together maternal and paternal energy, memory and affection.
Without fixed facial features, SAM remains open to interpretation. A gesture, a tilt of the body or a change in colour can express joy, tension, tenderness or resilience.
